School Review
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with the school review team when they were onsite during week 5. In total, they were able to speak with 211 people, including 90 students and 54 parents. The review team were incredibly positive with their feedback, making multiple key affirmations about the school including our Students First approach, the collegiality of staff, the vast number of opportunities for students and the many varied partnerships for the wider Bellevue Community. Our full review will be emailed to me in the coming weeks and I will share it with the community on our school website when it comes. The entire Bellevue Park community should be proud of what a special little school we are. It was strongly noted by the review team who felt very welcome during their visit.

Playground Opening
Adventure Playground Opening:
On Wednesday 11 August our wonderful school community celebrated the opening of our brand new Adventure Playground, officiated by The Honourable John-Paul Langbroek, Minister for Education and the Arts.
What was a tired, aged conventional play space has been transformed into a beautiful new nature inspired playground incorporating a popular Ninja Warrior course and beautiful natural landscape. The new playground has been proudly funded by the Queensland Government Playgrounds and Tuckshops Grant and our schools P&C association.

Term 3 Parent-Teacher Interviews
Bookings for our ‘Student Led Conferences’ will open next week. We encourage all parents and caregivers to attend with their student to share in and celebrate their learning journey so far this year. Your child will select some work samples, with the help of their teacher, to share with you and discuss their goals in English & writing.
Our Student-Led Conferences (Parent-Teacher Interviews) will be on Tuesday 16th September, 2023 from 3:45 – 6:00pm (week 10, Term 3).

Belly’s Little Library
It has been great to see the buzz around Belly’s Little Library, which now proudly sits just inside the main entrance to the school on Sapium Road. We’ve seen a steady stream of book exchanges and it’s great to see our students read a book, then return it to swap it for another. If you have any children’s books you would like to donate in good condition, please feel free to place them directly into the library. If it is full, you are welcome to bring your donations to the administration office who will restock it when space is available. Thank you!

Deputy Principal - Prep to Year 2 News

News from Ms Veivers
As we move deeper into Term 3, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful school community. The ongoing welcoming attitude from parents, students, and staff has created such a warm, inclusive atmosphere across the school. It’s this sense of belonging and connection that continues to make our school a truly special place to learn and grow.
Book Character Week – What a Turnout!
Congratulations to everyone involved in our Book Character Week celebrations! The creativity, enthusiasm, and community spirit on display were truly impressive. From costumes to classroom activities, the week was a fantastic celebration of literacy and imagination. A big thank you to families for supporting students in dressing up and participating with such joy! Thank you to Mr Young for all of the support, prizes and for being the MC and DJ!

PBL – Outstanding Progress
We are pleased to share that we’ve seen a noticeable decrease in the targeted behaviours we’ve been addressing through our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus. This is a testament to the consistent efforts of staff, the engagement of students, and the support from home. In addition, there's been a marked improvement in students' approach to eating time, showing more responsibility, mindfulness, and care during break periods. Well done to all involved!
Thank you, Bellevue Parents
I'd also like to acknowledge the positive and proactive approach from parents in engaging in supportive conversations with their children around school expectations and wellbeing. These home-school partnerships are incredibly valuable in helping students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Together, we’re making great strides — not only in learning but also in building a culture of care, respect, and support. Thank you once again for being such a committed and encouraging community.

News from Prep!
The Gold Coast Show – Mirabelle the Scarecrow
Our Prep students have been working hard in the vegetable garden. They’ve been growing basil, rosemary, coriander, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, kumquats, passionfruit, and a colourful variety of flowers. We’ve gathered a basket of our current harvest, which will be entered and displayed in the Garden Growing section at the Gold Coast Show.
The Preps have also collaborated to create Mirabelle the Scarecrow, who has been entered in the Arts and Crafts Competition at the Show. The children worked together to design, build, and decorate her, and we look forward to welcoming her back to our garden after the event.
If you’re heading to the Gold Coast Show, be sure to stop by the Arts and Crafts Stand to see Mirabelle and our basket of produce. And of course, don’t miss out on all the fun of the Show—showbags, dogs, reptiles, rides, fireworks, and fairy floss!
